Peterhead  Lifeboat Station

When I worked at Peterhead building the new deep water harbour for the pelagic fleet, Peterhead  Lifeboat station offered 6 seats for a launch & trip down the coast, for members of Balfour Beatty's staff who were on the marine side of things.

It is quite something to fly at speed down the launching rails & plough into the water at the bottom, especially at night time.  It was guy fawkes night, the night they fire off any flares that are near or past their use by date, so we had our own fireworks' display at sea.   Pelagic = Herring & Mackerel.
